The Little Mermaid

Now the only chance for the Little Mermaid to save her life is to kill the prince when he's sleeping before he marries the other girl. The Little Mermaid cannot kill the man she loves, though, so she just waits for the day of his wedding and then dies and changes into sea foam. To her surprise, however, even after death she still feels the sun on her face. This is because after she decided she would rather die than kill the prince, she was given the eternal soul she wanted to have so much.

The witch also tells her that she can only get an eternal soul if the prince marries her. If he marries somebody else, the Litle Mermaid will die and change into sea foam. The mermaid leaves the sea on her new human legs and when she meets the prince, he likes her a lot. They can't talk, because the mermaid gave her voice to the Sea Witch, so they danced together a lot. The problem is, the prince wants to marry the girl from the house at the shore because he thinks it was she who saved him when he was drowning.

Then, the Little Mermaid takes the unconscious man to the shore, where a young girl finds him. He doesn't see the Little Mermaid and doesn't know it was she who saved him. Later, the mermaid asks her grandma if humans can live underwater. The woman says that they can't and that they also don't live as long as the mermaids do. "However", she says, "they have a soul that lives forever even after they die". Now the Little Mermaid wants to have an eternal soul and live with the prince she loves. She goes to the Sea Witch who gives her human legs in exchange for her beautiful voice, and warns her that once she becomes a human, she can't go back to her life in the sea.

The Little Mermaid lives in an underwater kingdom with her father, grandmother and five older sisters. At the age of 15, any mermaid can swim to the surface and watch the world outside. Each year, 

the Little Mermaid listens to the exciting stories about what her sisters saw there. When the Litle Mermaid is 15 years old, she swims to the surface and sees a ship with a handsome prince. 

She immediately falls in love with the prince and when the terrible storm comes, she saves him from drowning.

Każdy tydzień będzie poświęcony innej historii. Waszym zadaniem będzie uważne czytanie fragmentów zamieszczanych na blogu 

i ilustrowanie każdego fragmentu obrazkiem. 

Teksty będą dotyczyć bajek i będą dostępne oczywiście 

tylko w języku angielskim.
